Whenever Karen comes home from school we make it a point to go somewhere new and just dress up and take pictures. This is actually how we got the idea to start our blogs and actually go through with the idea since we already had the pictures for it. In high school we did fashion challenges where we would take a picture everyday of the month and make a collage of all our outfits which was cool to look back on. This time we went to Laguna and Corona Del Mar Beach it was a beautiful day. I went to a Brandy Melville warehouse sale awhile back and they have all BM clothes, but they also had a section of clothes they bring in from local thrift stores. These overalls were in that pile and they by some miracle fit me. You really can't go wrong with denim which I am sure everybody knows. I see these overalls as a blank canvas because they can be styled one million ways (maybe a little less) and be worn with any color like a painting. Since I always need my statement item I chose this headband which I loooooooove. I never used to have the guts to wear it because I felt like Esmeralda from the Hunchback of Notre Dame, but it's an amazing piece even though it's for a 7 year old. We came across this really pretty wall of pink flowers that happened to match the pink in my headband which made me really happy because color coordination is a great thing. Originally, I was going to wear different shoes but these are such a good neutral color, and they matched my purse. With shorts it is better not to wear shoes with ankle straps like this because the strap breaks up the visual element by a block look on your leg which will also make your legs look shorter. However, these were decent because the color doesn't stand out too much.There's so many ways this outfit could have been styled and that's the type of things I try to buy; ones that can be styled into multiple looking outfits (like a black dress) to get your moneys worth. On that note I am ending this post because I am so tired and I do not think my sentences are forming correctly and my eyes are too tired to proof read this so I hope it sounds okay. Now for spring break yayyyy!

Malibu Wine Safari

March was full of wine and birthdays haha. These hats made a total comeback and while a black one would've looked just as cute, I like to add color and match my sunglasses hehe. I added the white t-shirt under the dress to #1 match my shoes, and #2 make it have more of a school girl look. I like layering tees under things it makes the look more unexpected. It is important to pick silver or gold when accessorizing. Although mixing is not a crime I am OCD about it all matching. Bustier Crop Top: Tilly's Tribal print maxi skirt: Brandy Melville Leather boots: ASOS Charm bracelet: H&M Earrings: Forever 21 Fedora: Forever 21 I love this skirt for one reason and that is the slit going down the side. Maxi skirts can actually be quite awkward if they have a straight hem because then a lot of shoes look weird with it. The slit allows you to wear different style shoes because it is still a long skirt, but it is open enough to see your legs and your shoes clearly. I chose this top because I did not want to use a boring black crop top because I think it is too predictable. I love this top because the color is really pretty and it is made for high-waisted skirts or shorts as such. The zipper in the front and the criss-cross straps in the back are all little details that make it stand out more than a regular top.
