A couple of weeks ago I got to meet Steve Madden and this was really exciting for me because he is HANDS DOWN my favorite shoe designer, I have so many pairs of SM shoes. The funniest thing actually happened that I still cannot get over, I went with my friend Imani and we were in the actual Steve Madden store and he literally walked in. For any of you that know how small his stores are you can imagine that this was very shocking. We literally shopped in Steve Madden with Steve Madden. Small world, great times. I bought these the day I met him and I am so in love with them I probably won't even wear them to refrain from getting them dirty. I bought one other pair, so those will probably be in a post soon. I figured I had to do a post using them because they are my latest addition. I loved these because they are over the knee and I have never owned over the knee boots before. Since they are so high they look so cute with short dresses as such. Since the dress has stripes and is already baggy, it is hard to find jackets or sweaters that will look good over it because it breaks it up too much. For that reason, I stuck with my denim chambray shirt and just tied it around my waste to add style and bring in another element rather than just wearing the dress. With black and white I would usually bring in another color like red or yellow, but I just stuck with black and white for jewelry. Since the dress has stripes I thought the choker would look cute since it looks like a black stripe (shout out to Karen for making me this), I usually like to wear multiple necklaces so I added a long one too. It is simple and just has a beautiful pendant that sparkles a little bit (I couldn't believe I found it at a thrift store). This is just my go to purse, it was cheap from F21 and pretty much goes with everything. These boots can go with so many things for the fact that they are black leather and the fact that they are so stylish in themselves. Just the fact that they cover the knee adds so much more style than if they were below the knee. I feel like this outfit is a good example on how you can take a bunch of simple pieces and make them into something really cute. Wearing boots like this with a simple dress is more unexpected than wearing black converse or sandals, and makes it more fun. I want to thank Steve for structuring and shaping his shoes perfectly and putting shoes on my feet all these years. The end. xoxo
