I have a hard time calling looks I stole from my dad '80's vintage' because in reality what is vintage? Most of the old things he owns are already back in style, so things that are considered vintage will soon enough be back in the loop. Although this shirt is as plain as it gets, it still cracks me up how many compliments I get on it. The main focus of the outfit is obviously the shoes (standout piece always)! More often than not, these shoes will be restricted to either black or denim to make it an easy match. I liked them with this skirt because they are both in the same color family, only presented in different ways. Mixing things like this will always keep your outfits looking fresh, and it is a good tip to follow if you are trying to break out of a comfort zone, or modify the way you dress. The black shirt wasn't enough so I added the vest to balance out the severity of the tight skirt. I mean, who doesn't love a back buckle?!

Malibu Wine Safari

Hat: Brixton Dress: H&M White tee: Boohoo Belt: Pacsun Sunglasses: RayBan Shoes: Steve Madden Necklace: Urban Outfitters Bracelets: one is 'Tiffany' and one I got in France  I did the Malibu Wine Safari last month for my other friend's birthday and my life was made when I got to feed my spirit animal, a llama. March was full of wine and birthdays haha. These hats made a total comeback and while a black one would've looked just as cute, I like to add color and match my sunglasses hehe. I added the white t-shirt under the dress to #1 match my shoes, and #2 make it have more of a school girl look. I like layering tees under things it makes the look more unexpected. It is important to pick silver or gold when accessorizing. Although mixing is not a crime I am OCD about it all matching. Bustier Crop Top: Tilly's Tribal print maxi skirt: Brandy Melville Leather boots: ASOS Charm bracelet: H&M Earrings: Forever 21 Fedora: Forever 21 I love this skirt for one reason and that is the slit going down the side. Maxi skirts can actually be quite awkward if they have a straight hem because then a lot of shoes look weird with it. The slit allows you to wear different style shoes because it is still a long skirt, but it is open enough to see your legs and your shoes clearly. I chose this top because I did not want to use a boring black crop top because I think it is too predictable. I love this top because the color is really pretty and it is made for high-waisted skirts or shorts as such. The zipper in the front and the criss-cross straps in the back are all little details that make it stand out more than a regular top.
