Purple Velvet

Faux Leather hat: Nordstrom Velvet Dress: Mink Pink @ Pacsun Mesh undertop: LA Hearts @ Pacsun  Earrings: Forever 21  Bracelet: My aunt in Germany sent it to me (idk where) Mesh shoes: Steve Madden I rarely wear this dress, but even I had a hard time putting something together with it. I bought it because I loved the color and it is really different, but not many occasions would be suitable for it. Since it is cut like a skater dress it looks awk if you put something over it, so I did the opposite with this meshed crop top (it has to be worn over/under something anyways for obvious reasons.) To completely compliment the holes in my shirt, I paired it with my mesh oxford type shoes. The look was getting a little sporty with a touch of velvet, so I figured why not add a cap to top it off, of course with some peacock feathered earrings. Black Button up: It is my dad's hehe  Skirt: TJ Maxx Ankle Boots: H&M Denim Vest: Forever 21 Sunglasses: Rayban I have a hard time calling looks I stole from my dad '80's vintage' because in reality what is vintage? Most of the old things he owns are already back in style, so things that are considered vintage will soon enough be back in the loop. Although this shirt is as plain as it gets, it still cracks me up how many compliments I get on it. The main focus of the outfit is obviously the shoes (standout piece always)! More often than not, these shoes will be restricted to either black or denim to make it an easy match. I liked them with this skirt because they are both in the same color family, only presented in different ways. Mixing things like this will always keep your outfits looking fresh, and it is a good tip to follow if you are trying to break out of a comfort zone, or modify the way you dress.
